Temecula Dog Trainer
You can become the best trainer/'dog whisperer' for your dog.
“You’re like Temecula’s dog whisperer!” I’ve heard this comment more times than I can recall from dog owners I work with. The truth is that what I really do at Dog Pro is teach owners how to be the ultimate “dog whisperer” for their own dogs. Sure, I can train their dog and correct it’s behavior problems….but that’s not the real goal! The real goal is making certain that the owners I work with are equipped with the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to be the very best trainer/dog whisperer for their own dog.
All dog training is based upon the relationship between the person and their dog. Since my client, the dog owner, possesses the strongest bond with their particular dog they are able to become the best trainer for their dog when they are properly trained. I can also be certain that with the knowledge, skill and confidence my training provides them that they will be able to continue training the dog for as long as they are a part of thetheir family.
My training also includes children. Unfortunately, in most other dog training programs kids are only involved in so far as telling them what NOT TO DO. Don’t pull the dogs tail, poke their eyes, etc. At Dog Pro I encourage children to participate in the same facets of training as the parents. The confidence kids develop while working with their dog is priceless and parents discover a new level of ‘educated comfort’ concerning their dog and children.
You really can become the very best trainer/’dog whisperer’ for your dog. Don’t assume they’ll grow out of their problem behaviors or that their obedience will improve with age. Schedule a FREE in home evaluation for your dog. I’d love to meet you and your dog, and show you exactly how to make things better. Call me today at 951-501-9244.

Temecula Dog Training Advice
Treating your dog like a human will almost always result in your dog treating you like a DOG!
It’s natural for dog owners to treat their pets like they would want to be treated. Dog owners aren’t alone in this mindset, many dog trainers actually share this unhealthy view of human/dog interaction. What’s worse is that they actually promote this destructive philosophy with their clients. This unnatural outlook concerning dogs motivates some of them to remove anything that might be perceived as “negative” from their training programs. In fact, there are schools of thought concerning dog training methods and canine behavior that espouse using only positive reinforcement when training a dog. “Purely positive” dog training methods certainly sound more humane, and who wants to be negative towards their dog anyway? The thing that the promoters of these positive only methods forget to consider is; what’s the natural training philosophy for dogs? How does a dog think? What motivates the dog? What is the basis for a dogs relationship with us and with other dogs? Domesticated dogs adhere to a well-defined way of thinking socially within their pack/family. This pack social structure is known as Dominance Hierarchy. Within this social structure a well-defined pecking order is established and it is critical that the dog recognize their human family members as positionally superior to themselves within the pack .
The reason leadership within your family/pack is so vital is that if your dog doesn’t see you as a leader it’s going to treat you like a subordinate pack member. That means they do what they want, when the want and how they want. Who are you to question them anyway, if you’re subordinate to them? They’re the ones who did what it took to establish themselves as the leader/alpha.
Effective dog obedience training first determines which techniques are going to be effective with the individual dog. Then the dog trainer works with the owner AND the dog together in order to establish healthy communication and a well-balanced relationship that results in obedience, good behavior and a dog that clearly views their owner as the pack leader.
Temecula dog trainers vary in their training philosophies. There are some dog trainers in Temecula who promote the unnatural idea that only positive reinforcement offers a complete and effective dog training solution. Ask questions and find out if the trainer you’re talking to really understands how dogs think or whether their dog training program is based upon what “feels good” rather than what is best for the dog.

Temecula Puppy Training
Your puppy wants to be trained!
No investment you can make in your dog pays you back as much or as often as training them as a puppy. Many dog owners play the waiting game, hoping that the new puppy will simply “grow out” of whatever problems they’re displaying. Nearly every puppy will have a problem or two that needs to be solved and waiting for the pup to mature out of it is the worst possible solution.
By far the most effective way to correct and prevent behavior problems is private puppy training that is customized to fit the needs and personality of the puppy. Group training offered by a “pet superstore”, local Temecula trainer or humane oriented organization is the least effective way to start training your puppy, adolescent or adult dog. Take a little extra time to interview professional trainers in your area and have them come to your home to evaluate your new family member. Pay less attention to what they can do with their own personal demonstration dog and more about the attention, knowledge and detail they display in assessing your dog.
The goal is for this new dog to play a healthy role in your family for the next 12 to 16 or more years. Invest wisely in training for your puppy now and you will be very glad that you did.
